Food & Beverage Duty Supervisor required for 5 Star Hotel's smallest F & B Outlet.
- Must have Matric / Grade 12
- Hotel Managememnt Diploma preferred.
- Must have min 3 years previous work experience in 4/5 Star Hotels.
- Must have experience in all F & B Department and Banqueting
- Must be able to manage Staff.
- Previous work experience as a Venue Supervisor
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations
- Must have experience in end of day procedures (cash-ups, reports, Stock take)
- Must show superior customer-service skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to monitor the entire venue area
- Good physical condition to walk and stand during an entire shift.
- Ability to multi-task and the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent promotional ability and knowledge of marketing all areas of the hotel.
- Superior interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work long hours and on weekends and public holidays.
- Flexibility - as the site is open 7 days a week, so there will be a shift rota in place.
- To perform extra responsibilities outside the normal sphere of daily duties and working overtime when necessary.
Role Responsibilities in detail:
- Welcome all guests on arrival and maintain a welcoming and helpful disposition & Greet customers upon their departure.
- Excellent communication skills (via phone and in-person)
- Manage venue ticket sales and access control
- Monitor new and late bookings
- Maintain a clean and neat working area.
- Check that guests have relevant/correct ticket entry wrist bands and access cards.
- Cater to guests who require extra attention (e.g., children, elderly)
- Answer incoming calls and address customers’ queries.
- Maintaining company policies and procedures in respect of daily operations.
- Supervising the operations and tending to any incidents or queries.
- Responsible for consistently implementing the service standards and operating procedures (Maintenance, preperations, accurate hand-overs)
- Responsible for daily/weekly/monthly inventory, consumption spreadsheet and reconciliation.
- Opening and closing of the site, with key holding and cashing up responsibilities.
- Provide daily revenue report on ticket sales
- Provide daily revenue report on merchandise sales.
- Responsibility for staff, stock, customer service and cash handling during shift
- Assisting in staff training & rota supervision
- Ensuring end of day sales report from the food and beverage outlet is received and recorded for Monthly reconciliation.
- Monthly reconciliation with food and beverage commission account.
- Liaise with the security department in regards to any security issues which way arise.
- Liaise with the food and beverage supplier to ensure smooth service operations by all parties.
- Decision making in the absence of the Banqueting Manager
- Selling and controlling merchandise stock.
- Ordering merchandise stock to ensure uninterrupted sales.
- Ensuring that a neat and clean venue is handed over to the next shift.
- Ensuring the cleanliness, maintenance and venue security of all operational equipment.
